What you'll see
Wanda is a town in Misiones known for its semi-precious stone deposits. At the mines a local guide takes you through the tunnels and rock faces where amethyst, quartz and agate geodes appear.
The visit ends at the workshop, where the stones are cut and polished. If you want a souvenir, there are pieces of every size right there.
How we plan the day
The drive along National Route 12 takes about an hour from Puerto Iguazú, through forest and plantations. The visit lasts around an hour, so a morning or an afternoon is enough.
It's a good option for your arrival or departure day, or when the weather isn't right for the falls. It works very well with kids.
