Season by season

  • Autumn (March to May): mild days, less humidity and fewer people than in summer. For many, the best time.
  • Winter (June to August): cool mornings and pleasant afternoons for walking. Watch out for the July winter holidays, when the park fills up.
  • Spring (September to November): nice weather, the forest in bloom and usually good water flow.
  • Summer (December to February): strong, humid heat, short showers and the busiest season. Get in first thing in the morning.

When is there more water?

The flow depends on rain across the whole Iguazú river basin, not just the season. After several rainy days the falls look huge; in dry spells they look thinner, but you can tell each one apart.

Any flow is worth it: the Brazilian side shines with lots of water, and the Argentine side lets you get closer when there's less.

Tips for choosing your dates

If you can, avoid long weekends, Easter and the summer and winter holidays. If you travel then, start early: we pick you up before the park opens.

Plan at least two days to see both sides. If it rains hard one day, we move it to the next.
